Our kettlebells are produced in the original Russian shape with a standard 35mm handle. They are steel, cast in a one piece process allowing the core to be completely hollow. This moves the weight up towards the wrist, unlike lesser quality KB's that aren't made with a hollow core. Our kettlebells are also completely silent with no internal casting remnants or rods. We believe the construction and shape is the best available and will last a lifetime.
Although our kettlebells are considered 'competition' it's important to understand what this means as the term is somewhat misleading. A 'competition' kettlebell signifies each of the various weights is identical in shape. You'll notice when looking at other non competition kettlebells, lighter bells are often smaller in size, as the weight increases, the size increases. This causes issues, particularly with technique breakdown when different weights are used. Every movement must be changed as the weights change. Competition kettlebells avoid this issue. The 8KG bell is identical in shape to the 48KG bell so as you increase weight you can maintain your technique without adjustment. Competition signifies standardized, consistent shape, and this is a more precise way of thinking about these products. It also signifies that the handle of each kettlebell has been machined to a smooth porous finish. Lesser quality kettlebells typically have rough texture, which impedes the ability for the handle to slide in the hand smoothly when transitioning from one position to another, a critical part of almost every kettlebell movement.
'Competition' kettlebells tend to be the best choice for most people. And it's common that after buying non competition kettlebells, clients trade up to the competition version. Competition kettlebells are built with the 5 fundemental kettlebell movements in mind and you'll find they work with you in each movement rather than against you. They will also grow with you as you advance rather than becoming a hinderance on your workouts as you perform more advanced movements and increase weight. Simply put, nobody regrets buying competition kettlebells.
This shape has become common among the best kettlebells on the market as it fits the palm and wrist of almost everyone. The handle connection points are wide allowing your arm to rest comfortably on the bell when in a racked position. The semi-porous, machined grip is perfect when things get sweaty but also easily slides through the hand when changing positions. This classic shape is optimized for the human wrist and hand. We are confident you will find it to be a perfect fit.
